Confirmed growth, renewed exhibitor confidence The 20th EQUI P'BAI E and 10th METAL EXPO will take place at Paris Expo - Porte de Versailles from 18 to 21 November 2008. Building on the success of the 2006 session which was reflected in the visitor satisfaction survey, the two exhibitions are already announcing an increase in numbers for the upcoming 2008 session. As at 3 July 2008, the total net stand space for the 2 shows was already 22,335 sqm, (i.e. +2% compared with 2006) with 371 exhibitors (319 for EQUI P'BAI E (+4.5%) and 52 for METAL EXPO). The growth is particularly evident in the exhibition sectors devoted to Glazed Products (+64 %), Joinery (+10.5 %) and Closing Fixtures (+5 %). Exhibition highlights and special events This year, following on from the Grenelle Environment Forum, innovation and performance are core themes at both exhibitions with the launch of a new competition, the Performance Awards. This first edition will turn the spotlight on the most efficient technical innovations in each of the activity sectors represented at Equip'baie and Metal Expo. The products' performance will be assessed according to energy efficiency, safety, accessibility, eco-friendliness, acoustics, solar protection and design criteria. The products will be judged on their technical performance in relation to one or several functions, the degree of innovation, certification, compliance with regulatory requirements, price and the price/performance ratio, the quality of the application and the supporting literature provided to the Jury. During the first stage of judging in October, a panel of experts will select the nominees and Grand Jury will then choose the winners. Three awards will be given, and the Jury may also make special commendations. The official award ceremony will take place on 18 November 2008. The winners will benefit from extensive promotional coverage of their products, starting in October with the shortlist announcement, during the exhibition where they will be in the spotlight, and via the equipbaie.com and metalexpo.com websites and those of our partners, as well as via visitor newletters, e-mailings, a listing in the official exhibition directories, the special "Award Winners" press kit, etc. The awards will give specifiers on the lookout for solutions for their future projects an immediate overview of the most groundbreaking innovations. A magnet for visitors and the "technological heart" of the exhibitions, the EQUIP'BAIE/METAL EXPO Forum will showcase all the innovations nominated for the Performance Awards. It is the natural place to host the various talks on topical industry issues with the focus on Sustainable Development and anticipated developments in the sector. Combining energy performance, comfort and environmental protection . innovations eagerly awaited by specifiers and contractors to meet tomorrow's needs Stimulated by the Grenelle Environmental Forum, manufacturers highly motivated by government decisions will be presenting an array of new products at the exhibition offering innovative solutions that comply with the new regulations governing both new buildings and renovations, with particular emphasis on: . ever-improving insulation for windows, doors, closing fixtures and glazing, . even more efficient solar protection, . automated systems for windows, doors and shutters. Visitors will have the opportunity to find out about the latest innovations in the fields of security, accessibility, ease-of-installation and user comfort, as well as in energy efficiency. The first wave of innovations announced by the exhibitors In the interests of environmental protection, some 40 innovations notified by EQUIP'BAIE and METAL EXPO exhibitors are featured on the enclosed CD, which gives the technical specifications, visuals (high definition) for an initial preview.
