Energy performance, accessibility: équipbaie métalexpo 2010... at the heart of topical concerns PDF Imprimer Envoyer
Mercredi 14 Avril 2010
équipbaie métalexppo 2010 équipbaie métalexpo 2010

From Tuesday 16th to Friday 19th November 2010... dates to put in your diary right away for your visit to équipbaie métalexpo, which will be held in the Paris Porte de Versailles (Hall 1) exhibition centre.

Two developments will be the focus of attention at the forthcoming show. One is the announcement scheduled for this summer of the new Thermal Regulations 2012 and the other will be the drive to make buildings more accessible.

Improvement in energy performance is very much the order of the day and areas such as window frames (aluminium, wood, PVC), glazing products and doors will play a major role here.

This is why équipbaie métalexpo, as a key forum for meetings and discussions, will focus very heavily on these two topical themes and will present the 30,000 expected visitors with the innovations being offered by the manufacturers of fittings for openings, external walls and metalwork.

The forthcoming équipbaie métalexpo 2010 will be a unique opportunity for all of its visitor categories (final customers, specifiers, distributors, contractors and tradesmen) to gain a preview of solutions and systems for openings (windows, doors, shutters, drives) that are designed to satisfy the new requirements.

As a visible proof of the show’s commitment, it will lay out a clearly visible Energy Efficiency visitor trail, which will flag up for visitors all the new products being shown by the exhibitors. And that’s not all... because équipbaie métalexpo will play its role as a trade show to the full through a programme of special events and conferences that will allow attendees to update their knowledge, follow developments in practice, attend presentations of model projects, as well as exchanging experiences and discovering the latest technologies for openings.

équipbaie métalexpo in figures…

Like BATIMAT last November, équipbaie métalexpo has withstood the crisis affecting the world of building well. This is undoubtedly due to the split in the sector’s activities between both new builds and renovation, with the latter having suffered less severely from the economic situation.

The most important areas for the show continue to be Joinery, Solar Protection and Windows and Doors, followed by Drives and Machines. The show should occupy 19,000m2 and there will probably be 320 stands (248 stands have already been booked), representing a fall of in the region of 15%.

The overall picture is essentially one of stability, with the average stand size being identical to that of 2008 (64m2 as of 13th April 2010). The métalexpo section, occupying a final area of 1,800m2 and 40 stands, should also post a 15% fall.

On the international front, changes in the level of participation since the last équipbaie métalexpo differ from country to country:

  • Italy has suffered the steepest fall (around 25%), with a forecast 1,600 to 1,700m2.
  • Germany has dropped by just 10% to an expected 1,600m2,
  • Spain, despite its economic difficulties, should maintain the same level as 2008 with 900m2.

Spotlight on performance at équipbaie métalexpo thanks to the Performance Awards

These awards are reserved for the show’s exhibitors and will provide recognition for the best performing technical innovations (less than 2 years old) in each sector of openings and their fittings, as well as all the uses for metal in construction.

For the record, 44 innovative projects were considered by the jury in 2008, which drew up an initial shortlist of 12, followed by 7 winners whose solutions pointed the way to future technological developments.

The jury consists of journalists, trade associations, technical centres, consultants and architects. The ceremony for the Performance Awards, moderated by Jérôme Bonaldi, will be staged in the show forum on the evening of 16th November 2010.

An Innovation Space, located within the show will display all the products shortlisted for the Awards.

The winning products will be featured from the day after the awards ceremony onwards. To increase the impact and visibility of the Performance Awards 2010, a communication campaign will be launched to highlight the participating products via a media schedule, the web, e-mailings and newsletters, the press releases and references in the show signage...

A rich and varied conference programme, combined with presentations by architects and exchanges of experience with professionals

Important topical subjects like the stricter and stricter regulatory environment (Grenelle de l’Environnement [French environment initiative], Thermal Regulations 2012, building accessibility...) and technological (r)évolutions such as the development of home automation or photovoltaics have led équipbaie métalexpo to create a full conference programme. Structured to be delivered in a range of complementary formats, this programme will allow visitors to make the most of their time. The conferences will be staged in the heart of the show in two theatres located in Hall 1.

Topical subjects linked to regulations and the market already announced include :

  • The 2012 Thermal Regulations.
  • The Eco PTZ and other grants for energy saving projects.
  • Accessibility for persons with restricted mobility.
  • Treatment of joinery waste and the challenges of recycling.
  • The thermal properties of roller shutters.
  • Photovoltaics and fittings for openings.

Particularly valuable exchanges of experience through the presentations of ‘Model Projects’

Architects, design offices, contractors and owners will be invited to share their experiences of working on a project that features a model building front in terms of accessibility and/or energy performance: intelligent façades, low consumption or positive energy buildings, renovation, implementation of a global approach when running a project, wooden framework...

Looking forward to “Technological Innovations: what will the window of 2015-2020 look like?” Manufacturers and research centres will present the latest technologies for openings and in particular:

  • The integration of photovoltaics into glazing products.
  • Daylighting : the optimization of natural lighting and managing energy inputs.
  • The contribution of home automation to energy efficiency.
  • Heated glazing.

A round table devoted to the development of construction practices in response to the Grenelle de l’Environnement [French environment initiative] involving all the parties that play a role in construction (representatives of contractors, architects, design offices...) will be organized in order to discuss :

  • The concept of the overall approach and a new division of roles and responsibilities between the various parties.
  • Extension of the role of the tradesman to advice about work stemming from his or her area of involvement.
  • Questions raised by guarantees of results.

The “Partner Conferences” are a series of events organized by the show’s partners on the following themes :

  • Craftsman made windows: from CE marking to certification (UNA CMA CAPEB and the faCE Association).
  • Eco-renovation: how to formalize relations with other trades? (UNA Serrurerie Métallerie CAPEB).
  • Window installation certification (by the UFME) Review of the rules for installation and their evolution within the framework of high environmental quality and low consumption buildings. Which voluntary approach to certification? How is certification a sales tool?
  • The economic and environmental benefits of replacing windows (by the Windows Centre).

Two half days dedicated to architects and the façade

Well known architects’ practices will present one or more of their current projects in which the façade plays an essential role, whether it is because of its originality or because of its integration of photovoltaics or ‘intelligent’ technologies.

Projects already announced include :

  • The First Tower in Defense (SRA Architects).
  • Beziers IUT (Chabanne & Partenaires).

A dedicated site www.equipbaie-metalexpo.com

The 2008 équipbaie métalexpo web site attracted very good visitor numbers, with 830,000 page impressions and 113,000 visitors. The new version, www.equipbaie-metalexpo.com aims to be much more than just a web site illustrating a show. Its ambition is to be a MUST for both exhibitors and visitors, with numerous functions to boost the circulation of information and to enhance its effectiveness.

For exhibitors, it is first of all an irreplaceable working tool that offers them a way to organize their participation in the show, to place orders, to organize their stand and to set up their communications...

Each exhibitor has its own personalized show case on the site in the form of a detailed entry including its contact details, activities and products, etc. An interactive plan locates the stand in an animated and attractive fashion.

For visitors, www.equipbaie-metalexpo.com provides an exhibitor list complete with search engine that accounts for 30% of the page impressions on the site. The surfer is therefore able to prepare for and organize a visit to the show (access plan, opening times, visitor contacts, transport, accommodation), order badges, search for a particular company or for all the exhibitors in a specified sector.

Finally, there is a section dedicated to the Press, which includes all the press releases and packs, as well as the show logos. A photo gallery displays a series of slides from the 2008 show and allows the high definition images to be downloaded.
