Philippe Ermel has been appointed Sales Director for Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics Europe®, a leader in the manufacture and distribution of technical fabrics and glass fibre mats.

Philippe Ermel replaces Alfio Calabretta, who retired after more than 20 years within the group. The new Sales Director was previously head of sales for paintable wall coverings for Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics Europe.

Philippe Ermel has a degree in Strategy and Business Management (ICG) and, at 44, has extensive experience in top management roles. From 2000 to 2005 he was the General Director of Euromur, which distributes wall coverings to the French professional market, and Sales Director with Hornstein Glastextil in Austria. From 1987 to 2000, he was co-director for Interglas' plant in Malmerspach.

Philippe Ermel is enthusiastic about joining the team of Karel Kyncl, Director of Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics Europe. In his role as Sales Director, Ermel will have plenty of opportunity to put his experience and expertise to use. He will be in charge of managing the entire product range for SGTF Europe, which includes glass fibre mesh products, glass fibre mat, wall coverings, insect screens and glass scrims.

Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics-Construction (turnover of 350 million euros, 1,100 employees) is a division of the Saint-Gobain group. Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics-Construction specialises in the production and sale of glass mats and fabrics for the building industry (waterproofing membranes, surfacing mats, etc.) and DIY sector (shingle, joint tape, and decorative wall and ceiling coverings, etc.). The Euromur subsidiary specialises in wall coverings.
